This is FREE event is in cooperation with the Somerset County Maple Producers to promote the maple industry. Visit any or all of the 16 participating sugar camps and see the process of maple syrup production! The Somerset Historical Center is the heritage stop for learning about maple sugaring history and lore. Learn about historical tapping, gathering, boiling and sugar making in the county. Taste the maple taffy treat, "spotza," and freshly stirred sugar. Watch coopers hand-craft wooden maple sugar buckets, known as "keelers."
