 oduction to the Art of Tinning is designed to provide a beginning knowledg
 e of the 18th & 19th century tinning using manual construction tools and t
 echniques. A brief history of the tinsmith trade will be covered during an
  illustrated talk. \n\nThe fee for the class is $200.00 for Non-members\, 
 $185.00 for Members + $80 materials fee.\n\nStudents will be able to const
 ruct several reproduction items including a candle holder\, wall sconce\, 
 typical punched-tin pie cabinet panel\, one pint mug\, etc. Starting with 
 basic layout and pattern making\, we will walk through the cutting\, formi
 ng\, and assembly of a project. Projects are based on period designs\, usi
 ng traditional tools and methods. All tools and materials are included for
  the workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring examples of tin ware a
 s well as tools for examples\, discussion and possible use.\n\nThe class i
 s taught by 'Tinman' Roy and Sharon Phillips\, and Apprentice John Boburch
 uk.\n\nSchedule for the workshop is Saturday and Sunday\, 8:00am to ~5:00p
 m both days.
