 ginning knowledge of the 18th & 19th century tinning using manual construc
 tion tools and techniques. A brief history of the tinsmith trade will be c
 overed via an illustrated talk. \n\nThe fee for the class is $150.00. HGSS
 C Members get a reduced rate at $125.00. *Please contact us to ask about t
 he member rate*\n\nThere are a variety of projects to choose from. Student
 s will be able to construct several reproduction items including a candle 
 holder\, wall sconce\, typical punched-tin pie cabinet panel\, side pour c
 offee pot\, one pint mug\, etc. Starting with basic layout and pattern mak
 ing\, we will walk through the cutting\, forming\, and assembly of a proje
 ct. Projects are based on period designs\, using traditional tools and met
 hods. All tools and materials are included for the workshop. Participants 
 are encouraged to bring examples of tin ware as well as tools for examples
 \, discussion and possible use.\n\nThe class is taught by 'Tinman' Roy and
  Sharon Phillips\, one of our highly skilled Mountain Craft Day artisans.
 \n\nSchedule for the workshop is Saturday and Sunday\, 9:00am to 5:00pm bo
