cus for the HGSSC's Taste and Tour experience at the Somerset Historical C

earliest records through the present day. The weekend includes activities
for children and adults.\n\nThere will be demonstrations of crafts that su
pported the maple industry such as coopering and scrub brush making\, an h
istorical overview of the industry in Somerset County and maple equipment.
Visitors can also sample freshly stirred maple sugar\, that 'toothsome' t
affy treat known locally as spotza\, maple popped kettle corn\, and burnt
sugar cake. Horse-drawn wagon rides will be offered by JT Yoder for a smal
l fee.\n\nAdmission to the Maple Taste and Tour is FREE and is held in coo
peration with the Somerset County Maple Produc
ers Association. The Society stop is one of more than 20 maple sugar c
amps visitors can enjoy. Hours are from 10:00-4:00\, Saturday and Sunday.
The Somerset Historical Center is located 4 miles north of Somerset on Rou
te 985. From Somerset\, take route 601 north to route 985. We are within 5
-6 miles of Baer Bros. maple sugar camp on the Maple Taste and Tour trail.
