 register for the waiting list. This will ensure that you are first to be n
 otified if a spot opens up or when we are scheduling each year's class.**
 \n\nIntroduction to the Art of Tinning is designed to provide a beginning 
 knowledge of the 18th & 19th century tinning using manual construction too
 ls and techniques. A brief history of the tinsmith trade will be covered v
 ia an illustrated talk. \n\nThe fee for the class is TBD. HGSSC Members ge
 t a reduced rate. \n\nThere are a variety of projects to choose from. Stud
 ents will be able to construct several reproduction items including a cand
 le holder\, wall sconce\, typical punched-tin pie cabinet panel\, side pou
 r coffee pot\, one pint mug\, etc. Starting with basic layout and pattern 
 making\, we will walk through the cutting\, forming\, and assembly of a pr
 oject. Projects are based on period designs\, using traditional tools and 
 methods. All tools and materials are included for the workshop. Participan
 ts are encouraged to bring examples of tin ware as well as tools for examp
 les\, discussion and possible use.\n\nThe class is taught by 'Tinman' Roy 
 and Sharon Phillips\, one of our highly skilled Mountain Craft Day artisan
 s.\n\nSchedule for the workshop is Saturday and Sunday\, 8:00am to ~5:00pm
  both days.
